When considering a wellbeing program that fits your company, five factors are important predictors of possible success and ROI. Before implementing a wellbeing program of any kind, it is important to assess your program’s cost-effectivity, longevity, usability, efficacy and scalability.
Picture
  • cost-effectivity: If you put effort and money in a wellbeing program, you want your relative return (in terms of less absenteeism and presenteeism) to be higher than what you spend on the program itself. To gain insight you should evaluate how many work hours and how much money goes into making the activity possible, how easily employees will take part in it and the cost for each activity per employee.
  • longevity: Many health and wellbeing programs fail at keeping employees engaged for a longer period of time. These will offer employees a few possible activities they can do to get them started, but then fail to offer new and exciting opportunities to keep them going. A good wellbeing program should result in sustainably alter your employees’ health and wellbeing.
  • Usability: A wellbeing program should be easy to implement, market and administer by HR professionals, but first and foremost easy and attractive to use by employees. Nowadays, employees desire to monitor their progress and status and are therefore more likely to use a program if it’s easily accessible and updated via online communication tools.
  • efficacy:It is really important to understand your employee population, demographics and even past healthcare data when deciding whether a wellbeing program is a right fit for your workforce. A wellbeing program should aim at reducing absenteeism and presenteeism and have the ability to improve your employees’.
  • scalability: Since your workforce and company constantly evolve, it’s important for your wellbeing program to be flexible and adaptable to the changing goals and needs of the company.
